We kind of saw it coming at some point. After Mary sang a couple of verses over Disclosure’s F for You, it was inevitable that they might return the favor. Damn it is good.
Even without having a list of who worked on the song, it has Disclosures’ signature sound that is unmistakable pulsing through; down to the fidgety beats and synth bursts in the chorus. What sweetens the deal is that Mary adds her soulful vocals over the top with some really expressive riffs and that Sam Smith has a written credit – wow, it’s like a reading list of some of the top UK talent out now. There definitely seems to be a British connection pushing through. Surprisingly, her R&B sensibilities don’t sound out of place in this stripped down garage/house production but instead, easily integrates in to make quite the impressive collaboration.
Her upcoming album, The London Sessions, have yet to have a release date but the hype will definitely have risen after this.
Nice review Adam
