It’s quite hard to place your finger on the sound of Ben Khan. Mostly hidden by the anonymity of keeping away from cameras for the most part, the British producer has let his music do the talking. The third of his recent releases after the two singles, Eden and Drive (Part 1), his influences from cinema seem to be a main factor in his overall sound – look at the latter song whose music video takes after clips from the film. At times, Youth sounds like I’m listening to a song from the 90s, with abrasive synthesizers and samples splattered sporadically across the track. It’s hard to accept that this guy is a one man band rather than a collective. Hopefully more is to come.
