This name may not be familiar with you, but in 2009 he won the “Newcomer of the year” award. After conquering his native Sweden, he set his sights on the rest of Europe; releasing “Hurtful” which met positive feedback but bombed in the charts. More cookie cutter songs were churned out but it was this backstep that led him to moving Los Angeles and well, you get the picture.
Five years later, and his reinvention has been the talk of the blogosphere, transitioning from Pop to a darker R&B/noir-soul sound. With his new album, Somebody’s Party, coming out tomorrow, it seems that finally he is throwing everything he has and the kitchen sink compared to his reluctant decline out of the spotlight. Will it be a success? Who knows. But this is the transformation that his career needed.
